Soft Mini Three

Soft Mini-Three is a cosmetic instrument for the determination of the elasticity of the skin.

Time alters the skin structure, impairing its integrity and beauty. The appearance of wrinkles is the most evident sign of this process. Knowing the elasticity of the skin is fundamental in order to prevent or reduce the ageing process and to choose the best product for each type of skin.

The hydration level test is also fundamental before and after a IPL/laser and peel treatments. Good hydration is, in fact, fundamental as it helps the skin to disperse the heat that is generated pre and post IPL/Laser treatments, and will be one of the determining factors, whether to peel or not to peel . The recovery and overall health of a well hydrated skin is much swifter and more controlled. Skin that is not well hydrated may result in an undesirable treatment outcome.

Skin aging is caused by both intrinsic (personal) and extrinsic (environmental) factors:

Intrinsic Aging: Over time, skin cells lose their ability to synthesise collagen and elastin. In this type of aging, the skin looks pale, thin and atrophied.

Extrinsic Aging: In this type of aging, the skin is thicker and is often covered with deep wrinkles. The dermis is characterised by an amorphous matrix and elastic fibres which are no longer able to perform their function. Extrinsic degeneration is a consequence of the continuous skin damage caused by UV radiation.

Considering the high number of factors influencing skin elasticity, it is difficult to establish a set of standard values valid throughout the population. The following values refer to the expected elasticity for every age group.
