Sebum is a fundamental parameter for the skin. Overactive sebaceous glands can cause major problems. Often a chronically oily skin has enlarged pores, comedones and other lesions associated with acne. This skin type is extremely prone to blackheads. The oil that is excreted gives the skin a wet, shine that is very hard to control. The pores are enlarged and the skin and its condition are difficult to manage, for the client and the therapist.

Oily skin is a major problem for skin. Often a chronically oily skin has coarse pores and pimples and other blemishes. It is prone to blackheads. In this type of skin, the oil producing the sebaceous glands are overactive and produce more oil than is needed. The oil oozes out and gives the skin a greasy shine. The pores are enlarged and the skin has a coarse look.

On the other hand, a dry skin can be a problem: it means, in fact, the skin is not well protected against external agents and therefore, more prone to the ageing process and sensitivity reactions.

Each type of skin (dry, combination, oily and normal) requires the daily use of specific products which restore the skin to a healthy glowing condition.

Soft Mini-Four provides the sebum level in a few seconds simply by pressing the probe onto the skin. The measurement of sebum ranges from 0 to 100: the higher the value, the higher the sebum level.
